Chuck Seura started landscaping as a young man in
Mass., with his father, a Stone Mason. He continued to
work summers with Landscape Creations – now Sudbury
Design Group, right through college. After graduating
with a Bachelors degree from Northern Arizona
University with a Major in Physical Geography and a
Minor in Biology, he moved to Bellingham, Washington.
In Bellingham Chuck started his own successful
landscaping business. Several years later he sold the
company to move back to New England.
After arriving in Maine Chuck had a short stint with
Islandscaping and then went onto work at the Abby
Aldrich Rockefeller Garden in Seal Harbor for 5 years.
That’s when Chuck decided he wanted more control of his
work. He reached out to a private estate owner whom he
was working part time for and was hired immediately at
the Seal Harbor Estate – Mosshaven.
At Mosshaven, Chuck was the Estate Superintendent.
What began primarily as a landscape/gardener position
at a newly constructed estate, quickly lead to more and
more responsibilities. Involved in everything from taxes
to managing contractors, he was responsible for
everything to do with the estate.
During Chuck’s time in Maine, he met his future wife
Ashly. Concurrently building a family as well as a Farm,
they now live with their three children on their small
farm, aptly named Seura Farm. On the farm they grow
Organic Fruits and Vegetables – from which Ashly
is constantly creating seasonal specialties – artfully
prepared food and raw juice to winter defense oil.
